2008 has seen the on-going interest of new private equity players despite the recent capital markets caning of some of the 2007 listed entities, along with buyers from outside the industry in particular from the mining and resources sectors and professionals from within the finance and banking sectors.

2008 will see the formation of a number of new hotel groups buying between five to ten venues in the New South Wales market. Hotel property to be on the market will predominately be hotels recently traded while it is expected that the longer term operators will remain in the trade and will not be actively marketing their Hotels.
