Demand For Poker Machine Entitlements Has Stalled

November 2007

October 2007 has seen the stalling for demand of poker machine entitlements. This has resulted in softening of prices for both country to city batches and country to country poker machine entitlement trading.

This has been the direct result of a reduction in mainly City gaming profit whilst money in has remained constant, the player is no longer playing all of the money down since the introduction of non-smoking on 1 July 2007.

It is expected that renewed interest in the purchase of additional poker machine entitlements will occur in the early part of next year particularly for venues wishing to add somewhere between the last five or ten poker machines to bring the venues total machine holdings to between twenty and thirty gaming machine entitlements.

Demand is predicted to grow again firstly by operators whom want to build their gaming machines from fifteen to twenty, with less risk seen in this bracket for potential growth in gaming revenues.

It is expected that gaming profits have dipped by an average of 10% to 15%.
